What is Christianity? Who is a Christian?

What is Christianity?  Who is a Christian?
When I did a search on Google, to give you a more accurate definition, I was totally amazed with how many hits there were.  I then decided to allow you to be creative and find your answer here: What is Christianity?

However, Richard Deem said it best ... “Christianity is more than religion, it is a way of life based upon one’s love for God and love of people.”  This statement is very true.  Until you have come to this level in your walk with God you will find it hard to believe or understand.

My definition of Christianity:  A Christian is any one person who believes in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, confesses his or her sin, stops sinning (repents-turns away from sin), adheres to the ten commandments, strives to have a pure heart, loves others, forgives others, helps and/or serves others and/or their church, serves the Lord.  Basically, one allows Christ to live in his or her body (as the Holy Spirit) and all this will become natural, for when we do all these things we are “Christ-like.”  For more information visit “What We Believe.”

A “good” christian will love God with all his being.  They will put God first-hand.  They will trust Him completely and rely on God for everything (faith):  instead of turning to others first - they will turn to God first.  They will seek a personal relationship with God.  They will obey God.  We accomplish this through Jesus Christ, our prayers, praise, the bible, church, and circumstances.

I don’t know how I lived half my life without Him.  For He said “I am the vine, you are the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”  (Romans 15:5).  And that is how I felt, like I was incapable of “being” or “doing,” until I found Him.  It has taken time and I am still growing, but I am more capable now of “being” who or whatever I want and I am not afraid to attempt the “doing” part anymore, either.  I feel like a new person!!

“...Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures; that he was buried and, in accordance with the Scriptures, rose on the third day;” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Can anybody become a Christian?  YES, scripture says “All men are now undeservedly justified by the gift of God, through the redemption wrought in Jesus Christ.” (Romans 3:24; also read 5:8; 6:15-23; Hebrews 10:16-17)

I could go on and on!  God loves US - EVERYONE so much that he gave his only son to die for us on the cross so that we may be saved from our sin and have eternal life in heaven with Him.  All we need to do is to accept Jesus into our life as Lord & Savior and ask for forgiveness for all our sins (repent) and continue to grow in His Word.

Do not be afraid!

If you are holding back from getting to know Jesus, that is Satan’s doing, he is a stealer of joy, he is a lier!  Do not listen to him!!  Learn to know God so that when Satan tells his lies you will know where it is coming from and you can stop it!  Just tell him “In the name of Jesus Christ I rebuke you” & put him under your feet.  And go on to what you where doing.  As it stated in the scripture above “So that at Jesus’ name every knee must bend in the heavens, on the earth, and under the earth.”
